  • Use Protective Gear: When handling hot wax, it's wise to wear protective gloves and even eyewear, especially if you're new to candle making.
  • Keep Out of Reach: Keep all materials and finished candles away from children and pets.
  • Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Fire Extinguisher: Have a small fire extinguisher or baking soda nearby, just in case.
STEP 3: Getting Started - What You'll Need (from home)

Besides your kit, you'll need a few common household items.

  • Double Boiler Pot (or a heat-safe bowl and saucepan): For safely melting your wax.
  • Old Spoon/Stirring Utensil: Dedicated to candle making (wax can be tricky to clean).
  • Scissors: For trimming wicks.
  • Clothespin/Wick Holders (or skewers/chopsticks): To center your wicks. (if you loose the ones we send you)
  • Paper Towels/Newspaper: For easy cleanup.
  • Heat-Resistant Surface: To protect your countertop.
STEP 4: Let's Make Candles! Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these simple steps to create your custom candles.

Step 1: Melt the Wax

  • Set up your double boiler. If you don't have one, place a heat-safe bowl over a saucepan filled with about 1-2 inches of water.
  • Pour your soy wax flakes into the top pot or bowl.
  • Heat on medium-low, stirring occasionally with a wooden stirrer, until the wax is fully melted and clear (like olive oil). This usually happens around 175-185°F (80-85°C). Use your thermometer to check the temperature.

Step 2: Prepare Your Wicks

  • While the wax melts, attach a wick clip to the bottom of each wick.
  • Dip the metal tab of the wick into the melted wax, then center it at the bottom of your candle jar. Press down gently to secure it.
  • Use a wick holder, clothespin, or two skewers/chopsticks laid across the top of the jar to keep the wick centered and upright.

Step 3: Add Fragrance & Color

  • Once your wax has reached 185°F (85°C) and is fully melted, remove it from the heat.
  • Wait till it reaches 60°C and then add your fragrance oil. Add maximum 5% of the wax quantity. Which means which wax is 100 grams then add 5 grams of aroma. Stir gently for 2 minutes to ensure it's well incorporated.
  • Add color drop by drop and stir to make the color of your choice. You can add more for a deeper color.

Step 4: Pour the Wax

  • Wait for the wax to cool slightly to around 135-145°F (57-63°C). Pouring at this temperature helps reduce frosting and ensures a smoother top.
  • Carefully pour the wax into your prepared candle jars, leaving about 1/2 inch of space from the top.
  • Make sure your wicks remain centered.
  • Once wax is semi solid, do holes near the thread to release any trapped air.
  • After 10 mins pour more wax to fill the air pockets and for final finishing.

Step 5: Cure Your Candles

  • This is the hardest part – patience! Allow your candles to cure (harden and bind with the fragrance) for at least 24-48 hours at room temperature. For best results and strongest scent, 5-7 days is ideal.
  • During this time, the wax will turn opaque and solidify.

Step 6: Trim & Enjoy!

  • Once fully cured, trim your wicks to about 1/4 inch before lighting. This prevents excessive smoking and ensures a clean burn.
  • Light your beautiful, handmade candle and enjoy your creation!
